//...Mr. Motley's Study

~ " I'm sure the inventor of this tome did not mean for it to be so confoundingly hard to open!...", hissed Mr.Motley under his breath through a tight jaw. The tiny inscription on the back said, ' Artemisia '. " Well..," began the hot-headed Mr.Motley, "...it must hold some very intriguing secrets for it to be locked up so bizarrely". He looked over his broad shoulder at the steampunk clock; 11:50pm. His ruby eyes narrowed. Was that running slow?. He remembered it's make. ERG. They had no history of making crap clocks before. Everything seemed to be irritating him.

 Although he had had a decent day - got dressed in his new bespoke suit by JEYS, which he thought looked ever so smart with the cog details. Then went into the village to get his hair barbered by the famous Raven Bell. After, everyone smiled at him as he passed and he felt truly confident for once. Now, stood in his smoggy study, with pipework done by his favourite coppersmith, Petrichor, he was grumpy. All because of a silly magical book. Its sister tome floated nearby, almost mockingly so. Mr. Motley rolled his eyes and decided to just go to bed. Maybe the answer would come to him in his sleep. ~
